I am very pleased and proud to announce that Hildegunn has been shortlisted in the Publisher’s Choice of Account Manager category in the A4U Awards. Whilst I think all of our Account Management team are completely worthy of the award it is great to see Hildegunn’s achievements recognised by the wider industry.

    Here she is…..

So….all affiliates out there…..log in to your A4U account and vote for Hildegunn – I implore you :-)

CJ at the A4U Expo Pt 2

Author: Hannah Luckie; Filed under: Industry Events; Tagged as:

Ah it all seems so far away it almost feels that were it not for my unpacked bag it may have never really happened. So, after the delights of last week’s imaginatively titled ‘CJ at the A4U Expo Part 1′ here is the second installment. I believe I left you halfway through Tuesday, just before David Harding from Argos and Daniel Powel from Commission Junction did their session on Managing Success in a Downturn.

    Affilicon Schedule

Author: Hannah Luckie; Filed under: Industry Events; Tagged as:

The guys at Affilicon have contacted me to promote their upcoming events and have also given a discount code for CJ blog readers. They have the following events coming up: Israel – 1st & 2nd June, Stockholm – 14th & 15th October, Beijing – November 19th & 20th and Mumbai in February 2010.

The event in Israel is an international one. They are expecting 1,500 attendees from America, Africa, Europe and Asia.  The split will be roughly 800 affiliates, 300 media/seo attendees and 400 vendors. Their focus is on getting together a truly international audience.

If you are interested in attending and would like a discount code then let me know at admin@cjblog.co.uk.

Tip of the Week

"A large proportion of publishers I know own dozens if not hundreds of domain names. Later on they regret having purchased so many as they don't have the time to build websites for them. Also they don't attract the amount of type-in traffic they were hoping for. Therefore discipline yourself to only buy domain names that you must have.

Be cautious of hype-ridden new TLD releases. There is currently a lot of hysteria surrounding .co domain names, but they could end up being just as much of a damp squib as .tel, .ws and other TLDs. One thing many people are not aware of is a .co domain is seen by Google by default as a local Colombian domain; great if you want to rank well in Colombia, not so great if you wish to use it for a UK site."
