Who is the pretty boy of affiliate marketing?

Author: Hannah Luckie; Filed under: Meet the Team; Tagged as:

Doug Scott is doing a poll on his blog about who is the pretty boy of affiliate marketing. We IMPLORE you to vote for Jason Baker here. We think he is beautiful (actually we think that in certain lights he looks a little bit like Shrek but if you look into his eyes you will see true beauty shining back at you).

See below for evidence that not only is he an amazing looker but also that he is domesticated as well.

    VOTE FOR JASON!

In September E-consultancy conducted a survey into the state of affiliate marketing in the UK – what proportion it made of budgets in 2008 vs 2007.  The survey dealt with 259 merchants and 150 agencies and came up with some rather interesting and surprising information.

The first thing which struck me was this stat:

‘Merchants reported that 5 or fewer affiliates are driving 80% of their affiliate sales or sign ups’

This was particularly interesting in combination with the fact that:

‘..almost 70% of merchants are spending less than two hours per week communicating with their affiliates…’ Read the rest of this entry »

To welcome to you to our new blog we have decided to have a lovely big competition to win a trip to Commission Junction University in Santa Barbara, California (see our blog posts about it here and the official event site here).

All you have to do to win the competition is to ’take the team’ somehere nice :-) Download the photo I took (not a brilliant photographer I will admit) of some of the team, print it out and take a photo of yourself and the team somewhere special.

    Seasonal Meeting Day – Travel

Author: Jason Baker; Filed under: CJ UK Events; Tagged as: ,

It is more important than ever to get everything you can from your affiliate marketing as everyone feels the burn of the recession. We will be having a guest feature soon about recession-proof affilliate marketing but for now I wanted to tell you about our efforts to maximise the upward curve of seasonality.

Clearly the most effective form of communication is face-to-face. So, following the success of our retail seasonal business meeting day on the 8th of October, we had our travel event last Wednesday at the MWB Offices in Marble Arch.

"Advertisers: an effective way to get more exposure for your brand, generate increased sales, and encourage publishers to engage with you is to launch a competition in which publishers are asked to place a banner or text link to your website on one of their homepages. They have to email you a screenshot of the advert and the page URL. After a certain period of time, you will randomly select a winner from the entrants.

Many publishers will keep the link to your site after the competition has ended, and because they have emailed you, you can communicate with them to drive more sales for your business and enable them to earn more commissions."
